Baseball and Softball Camps
The DIAMOND STAR CAMPS for baseball were created
in 1999 by New Hampshire high school coaches Tom Underwood and Bob Price.
Due to a great number of requests, softball was added in 2002-2009. Coaches
Harry Blood and Tina Price from Plymouth State College, along with Marty
Zarli from Moultonboro Academy, spearheaded this aspect of the camp.
The
DIAMOND STAR CAMPS were founded on the theory that young, impressionable
players needed a constructive summer where they could be taught the fundamentals
of the game by successful and qualified coaches. The philosophy of all
our baseball and softball camps is to accomplish rapid skill development
through hard work and drills. Some of the drills used are chosen to teach
fundamental skills to younger, less-experienced players. Other drills
are designed to enhance the higher-level skills of older, more seasoned
players. We are not a team-oriented, competitive, win-at-all-cost environment.
We teach fundamentals in a fun, disciplined, challenging but non-competitive
atmosphere. Each and every camper will leave DIAMOND STAR CAMPS
with improved skills and a greater love and understanding for the games
of baseball and softball.
